Call me a cynic (hey, not all at once!), but it offended me a little bit that a multinational banking monolith was feeding me messages like "Nobody grew up wanting to be Moneyman." Oh, really? Well, a lot of people DID become "Moneyman," and sit on the Citi board of directors. If Citi wanted to convince us that money wasn't everything, the best way to illustrate that would be to reduce or eliminate ATM fees and other service charges. Oops, sorry -- I thought they meant money wasn't everything to THEM. That message was only for us.
