[...] First off, “Now We Can Eat” won the grand prize in the Heinz Top This TV contest. Thanks again to everyone who voted. Here’s an article about the contest by David Vinjamuri and a video about user generated ads featuring yours truly. In other news, this summer I’ve been to Florida, Germany, Texas, and Canada on various vacations and projects. I’ll update the photo gallery soon with pictures. I’m in the middle of editing an hour long show for the Big Ten Network about NU’s Solar Car team, along with the sixth episode of News@Northwestern and more videos for Expert Real Estate Tips.net. I’m also working on a music video for my friend Dawen Wang that is almost done. Other work of mine that’s on the web can be found on Northwestern’s YouTube Channel, including this piece on Boomshaka which turned out particularly well.
I think that inviting the public in the ad-creation process is a great way to get people involved and fit in with the user-generated content trend.

Sounds like an on-going trend. Reminds me of the Doritos 2007 Super Bowl Ad contest. I believe they chose five winners and paid them $10,000 each.

Five 30-second ads for $50,000 and tons of free publicity, not a bad idea.
